Wine #3

Simi Landslide Cabernet. We had a wine tasting on this guy at work the other day so I thought I'd pass on the knowledge of a professional wine-o :-).

The Simi winery was opened by two brothers in the late 19th century Sonoma Valley California. They left the business to their daughter/niece who continued the family tradition. She successfully made it trough prohibition using a sacramental permit. After prohibition she opened the fist wine tasting rooms in Sonoma Valley using one of her room sized redwood barrels (which I really hope will exists because I would LOVE to see that someday!).
Cabernet being a thicker skinned grape is higher in tannins than other grapes which leaves the dry taste on your tongue. This Cabernet has lovely blackberry hints with some spice black pepper on the finish.
Now...how fancy do I sound? Lol. It actually is a nice wine and since it was grown in a location where at one point there was a landslide it's a bit earthy. Cool eh?
